These are the principles upon which Inspiring Communities has been built. Created to provide collaborative supports to communities across Nova Scotia, Inspiring Communities works directly with communities and community organizations to provide strategic support for their specific needs. It’s not one government department, one non-profit organization, or one approach.
What does this mean? It means communities in our province who are in need of support to address complex social problems (addiction, poverty, etc.) will be engaged in a collective process within their community to strengthen themselves and address the issues they have identified. Inspiring Communities will work with existing community leaders, organizations, and partnerships in a collaborative way to bring resources together.
What does it look like? It looks like many different things, but most importantly it looks like the community that is involved. No two communities are the same, which is why Inspiring Communities was created to respond to the issues and problems identified by the communities.
